Dr. Kevin Huang receives $3.2 million
ARPA-E (Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy) announced $33 million in new funding for 13 projects aimed at developing transformational fuel cell technologies. USC received $3.2 million in new funding for fuel-cell technology research at USC. Kevin Huang from the SOFC Smart State on the third floor or the Horizon Office Building is the PI and his co-investigators are Ralph Edward White and Jason Hattrick-Simpers, both professors of chemical engineering. The USC research team with work in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin, Clemson University, the University of Maryland and Acumentrics Corporation to develop a ceramic-based fuel cell that will efficiently generate, distribute and store electrical power.
